  • "WakeShaper" for wake surfing

Just wondering if anybody has tried these things out

Particularly interested in the application on a 2003-20012 Star. How well does it work? Any bad reviews?

(sorry if there is a previous thread on this...I've tried using the search feature but just keep getting a 404 error page)

I made a homemade version of this for my 09 and it made a huge improvement. Able to weight the boat more even (all factory tanks full, 750 port full, 750 stbd half to 2/3 full). Wake was much cleaner and a lot longer.

Many on this forum have them, including myself. Works good on an X2.

Bought the first generation of this last year for my X2. Made a huge difference. Very happy with it.

Thanks!! I figured there was already a thread...just couldn't find it! I am trying now to contact SSNAPLES to see if he has a product for a gen 2 Star. If he does then I'll gladly buy one and try it out and post videos/reviews asap!

Ok, just ordered one for my 2012 X-15. We'll see how it works. Also getting a couple of 600 lb bags and 2 extra pumps for the rear corners.

Did he confirm that this will work on a 2012 X15? I didn't think the current design would work with the new swim platform brackets after we last spoke. He was working on a new design last month though.

If you go to order on his website, it looks like version 2.0, the one he was working on, is currently out for sale. I might order one for the 09 star as well.

No clue. I'm still waiting to hear something on it for the 2008 XStar. I've emailed him several times, PM'd him on here, and commented on his thread. No reply.

I think one for that generation star is in the works. I built a homemade one and it worked great. However I broke it a couple weeks ago and just went back to listing the boat.

When I have time I'm going to build one for goofy riders as the port wave is good enough without one.

Having built a homemade one for an 09 star, I can tell you the shape of the transom makes it much more difficult than most of the other boats.

I appreciate all the positive feedback from everyone. I am glad that Wake-Shaper is helping our sport and look forward to future advancements. If you have any pictures or video using your wake-shaper, please send them to [email protected]

In regards to the X15 fitment: The transom on the X15 is almost identical to the X2 and I have sold a few to X15 owners who have had no problem getting them to fit... or maybe they haven't tested them yet? The adjustable wake plate tab on V2.0 Wake-Shaper allows for proper fitment on the X15. This is also working on some Nautique models and there are a few testers lined up on some malibu models. There are so many variations in transom and swim step designs. If the transom is not somewhat flat in this area, then V2.0 is not going to work.

With that being said, I have another option (soon to be released) that will work for the other boats that are not compatible with V2.0 I wish that it was ready to go, but please understand that I would not want to release something without fully testing it and making sure that owners would be happy with it. I can guarantee you that the wait will be well worth it and hope to release something very soon. If I have yet to respond to your email, please hang tight. You will definitely be notified once a a working option is available. Everyone's patience is greatly appreciated.
