We do one splurge meal a week which is normally burgers or home made pizzas. The plan is working well.

    for 2016

besides maintaining what I have built up in 2015.

    Increase forearm strength
Increase lower leg strength to help riding on balls of feet.
Get to Florida to get some winter sets in
Do some winter sets if possible - locally
Go south for memorial day to spend a few days in a course in the early season..

and total deny I am 56 in January

lose 10-12 pounds -- means less beer - or more cardio....lol...
so down 17 pounds - never made it to texas or florida - but strength is up and still heading down in weight...

Had to give up the good stuff - have not had a beer or pizza or junk food in 90days.. but happy about weight and strength.

Now to bring a journal in the boat.. skied yesterday and just had fun.. made lots of mistakes but went 32 off free ski - just for grins..

pic not at 32 off -- and darn the t-rex right arm...

Isn't it interesting how much strength you lose when you don't go to the gym for a few weeks.
Amazing how much strength you lose when you don't go to the gym for a few months.
Absolutely ridiculous how much strength you lose when you don't go to the gym for 7 months!!!

On a good note though, my shoulder is much better after the rather extended layoff.

Wel Id like to lean down some more than I am.. Abs would be cool.

I really need to go back to morning workouts, lunch ones aren't long enough and I've been exhausted since I cut out caffeine (soda and monster) I feel I've leaned up some in the last couple weeks, just not showing on the scale. I'm not set on a number but 185 would be easier on my knees boarding. They hated life at 205.

Eff it im proud of where I at with how I look. Here's a pic from yesterday at the gym.. No ****

When I was working out, the trainer had me working mostly the largest muscles/groups because they continue to burn calories after the workout. Legs, back & abs. I lost fat but not a lot of weight because muscle replaced goo. I would do cardio almost every time, in addition.

I think the problem with this is that so many sites and books disagree and muddle the whole thing. One says eat constantly to keep the metabolism running, another says that limiting calories is the best way. Another says lots of cardio/moderate weights or vise-versa, another recommends eating one kind of food or another and another says that eating only raw foods will shed pounds.

The quickest way I have lost 20 pounds was in '05, when I worked for an AV contractor and we were humping it all day, every day. Lots of stair climbing, carrying tools and materials, climbing ladders and using every muscle I have. Took two weeks to knock off 20 but if I did that kind of workout now, I wouldn't be able to do my job because it took all day.
