I was at Daytona Beach a couple years ago and watched 2 lifeguards come down the beach on quads and turn into the ocean on jet skis. I could see where these would come in quite handy during a life threatening situation. The price is just too steep for a toy, though.

Yes, for the price, you could probably by a quad to tow the jetski.
