when is the last time you changed those parts - ?

This is my 3rd season with the boat so I'm not sure when they were last replaced. Boat is at 800 hours and I've put around 100 hours on it.

Is this the temperature sensor? It's on the intake manifold the next thermostat housing?

Do I really need a new distributor cap or can I just scrape off the corrosion?

yup way rich on the plugs.. 2003 - sensors are 13 years old and they are electronic - electronics don't like heat. Check fuel pressure - a bad fuel pressure regulator might be letting too much fuel go by or you might have some leaky injectors.

This is getting expensive fast. Where is the fuel pressure regulator and how do I test it? How will I know if I have leaky injectors? I appreciate all the help.

Throttle body looks dirty as well as injectors. What's the best way to clean?

Any updates on what was causing this to run rich? Been following this thread and curious
One of God's own prototypes. A high-powered mutant of some kind never even considered for mass production. Too weird to live, and too rare to die.

On the TBI bottoms of injectors should be dry.. is your spark arrestor clean? - cap and rotor are 29 bucks at summitracing.com and even napa.. you can use automotive.

that TBI is pretty bullet proof - but easy to rebuild.. one possibility is a pin hole regulator which sits in the middle in the middle behind the injectors. fuel pressure should be 30ish psi I believe on this TBI motor.

here's my rebuild thread - picture shows wrong pressure spring now replaced with solver.

you need to gen an inline gm tbi pressure tester adapter - but the darn thing leaks cuz the flare are not made for the jig.

did we discuss checking the tube to the MAP sensor? is it clean is that sensor ok. The map sensor takes over TPS providing data to the ECU at a certain RPM. A faulty MAP sensor is a common problem on rich running engines..
