  • NXT22 Wakeboard Ballast Setup

Those with the NXT22 that wakeboard, what is the best ballast weight setup? I am trying to keep from putting bags on the floor or in the seat.
    I ride 75' at 23mph.
The 2017 NXT22 has 870 total in each locker and 400 up front. I have read that you need a lot more weight up front but is that with the rear full or just the hard tanks full?
Any info on this is much appreciated and I am sorry if there is already a thread that I could not find.

This is what I will be trying.
        Wakeboard
        Full everything stock wPnP
500# lead - not sure where in the boat yet
        400# sack in front walkway
Possibly going to add 260# sacks under seats

        Surf
I will just empty the 400# sack or move it to the back
Then empty some front ballast as needed

I am thinking of adding the 155# sacs under the front seats on the overflow of the front ballast.
        Has anybody done that yet?

Stock ballast, plus 500 in lead in the rear combined with the plug and play, and a few people

Ended up putting the 400# sack in the back floor up against the seat. 150 lead in front and 200 lead in each side just in front of batteries and hard tank.
I don't have the sacks for under the seats yet. I have found people talking about needing centered weight instead of weight in nose and rear. I will be moving everything around to find the cleanest setup.
I am probably going to have to just put a sack in the floor.

I think I have asked but has anybody removed the hard tanks and put in custom bags or 1100's?

Check out Cowakes on instagram. They seem to have their NXT22 figured out.

                    This is what working.
                    Wakeboard
                    Full everything stock wPnP
550# lead - 150 in front - 200 under each bag in lockers
                    400# sack in front walkway
                    Plumbed 260# sacks under seats
I had to add a tsunami to each of these bags to empty. They fill but do not empty.
Takes about 9 seconds to plane out with the use of the center plate.
Slowed down to 22.2 and at 70 foot.

                    Surf
Just empty the 400# sack or move it to the back
Then empty some front ballast as needed
