    Hey TT,

Looking at some of the new boats and may pull the trigger here soon on an x23. One thing that is really bothering me (entirely too much most likely) is the interior changes between 2015/16 and 17.

I was always a huge fan of the diamond stitching, MC embroidered badges and the bright billet glove and bow walk through doors. I am concerned that blackened billet will fade like the towers did as well.

The changes seem to make the interior...well frankly boring. It looks much simpler and like cost saving measures IMO and looses some of the class and detail of the older interiors. I know they are going for a more refined and muted appearance, it just misses the mark for me. At least a first blush.

I haven't crawled through many 2017's yet, mostly online photos. What say you TT?

I obviously disagree, but it has been discussed heavily around these parts. TT owners of 2015/'16s seem to share your sentiment and I'm sure they'll soon be here to voice it.

The only part of the 2017 interior that I find to be a downgrade is the observer arm rest - it just looks odd IMHO. I did also like the diamond stitching. Otherwise, I much prefer the new aluminum on dash/bow door/glovebox and the functionality of new glove box setup.

Ironically, my wife and were looking at pics yesterday that our dealer sent over while prepping our boat for delivery. It's a non-current PS, so it has the "old" interior. My wife turned to me and stated how she liked our interior much more than the '17 we looked at. I agree as well, but it's just a personal preference thing.

I was disappointed at first, but when I started to look around and showed it to my wife (she liked it) I started developing a taste for it. I'm less blingny myself I guess, so it works for us.

I also loved the diamond stitching pattern. Oh well. I have dockstar.

We have a '16 and love the interior but also think all the changes with the exception of the cleats were a step in the right direction for 2017. To us the muted appearance is a good bit more classy and less blingy. Just an opinion, only reason I say it because it did take a little bit of time for the new interiors to grow on me, and it could be the same for you.

I like the new one as the old one has just too many details in it (2016 interior Vs 2017). But before I had seen the new 2017 interior the old one looked really nice. I was a sucker for the diamond stitching, but as I have been looking at it now for 2 years I am over it. personal preference and both are nice just different.

Yes, I have been saying this for a while now and fear the dark areas won't wear well or look very good in a just a few years. Went to the boat show and after only 3 days of being on display the 2017 XT20 I was in already had scratches on the glove box and around the dash control knobs in the dark aluminum areas. Cant imagine what a few years of sun fade and family usage will look like on these boats.

Other bummer is the ZFT4 towers look cheap now as the outer large round pivot covers are no longer machined and are just flat aluminum plates with the MasterCraft name barely etched into them. The older ones were machined works of art and the logo was also machined into them. Same for the cover plates at the base of the towers, a step backwards it looks like.

I'm all for a subtle muted look but not a cheap second tier look like they are moving toward. I want to be proud of the machining craftsmanship and not need an excuse like " yeah the MC billet used to be beautiful works of art but they cheapened the tower and now it looks like this"

I would be more concerned about your x23 not having any floor panels to give access to all equipment mounted under there.

It's not all bad as they have added some more machining to it as well like the base and the arc has been put together from 2 pieces rather than 3 which makes it stronger. Also I am hoping that they have fixed the racks in the 2017 model as the older ones rattled a bit too much to my liking, but now as the racks go over and under the pivot point I am hoping it is a stronger and more rattly design.
