Maybe. I'd definitely be interested to see anything new for an XStar or X24...... but I can't get any confirmation that there will even be such a thing, and I have to think about ordering soon. If MC isn't even at the stage where they can tell my dealer that it would be a good idea to wait because something is coming soon, then I am guessing it is going to be too late for this year.

To FourFourty's point, I wish boat companies would get on a regular product release cycle and release everything new at once. For example, ALL new 2018s would be released on July 1st or July 5th or something. This would be especially helpful for the most regular customers so that orders are placed early in the year and you know that something new isn't going to be released right after your order goes Red at the factory. Instead, guys are waiting on a new model that may or may not happen and may end up buying a Nautique instead because of a lack of information. It's not the worst problem for the customer to have, but the manufacturers could avoid losing a few sales by just holding everything under wraps until a new model year release date that is consistent year to year.

I am struggling to get my first MC, I have been trying for years. I have been super close a couple of times, but something has happened every time...wife lost her job, dog needed knee surgery, had a baby, moved from Nova Scotia to Ontario for a new job.

My point is, people here are talking about what new boat they get every year...OMG, that is Awesome for you, excited for you guys/gals!!! I wish I had that opportunity! I am trying for a 2014-ish X-23 or 46 to keep for 10 or 15 yrs!. I also want it to have my 3yr old enjoy it. More importantly, I am looking forward to doing the maintenance with him, have some father son time.

I dont think thats the point.

Whether new or used, most are looking to see what is coming down the pipe. I don't buy new boats, i look for deals on 2 year old boats. So me looking at the releases, i'm looking at what the comparables are on the market for the old tech and whether i'll keep my current boat or upgrade to a year or two newer.

Meanwhile, here you are chastising people about "trying to buy a boat every year" and you're looking to buy a 150-160k CAD X23.(btw it was new in 2015). Some people are buying NXTs, X20s, XT lines and you could get all of those new for what you're talking, so not really sure why you're all worked up here.

Who's worked up?? I just think it is awesome that some people are able to do that. Lastly, I wasn't chastising anyone...maybe you should re read the post.

so apparently I came across as angry, not excited for ppl able to afford / trade a new MC every year. That is awesome for you to be able to do that.

As for being "mad" at people with money...who cares about money ... (See picture above) ... I don't need money, I have him! That little man is what makes me happy. I hope to provide him with the pleasures of an MC one day, but if not, not the end of the world at least we have a roof over our head and food on the table.

Back to the topic. The new gauges look fricken incredible, as do the new speakers. As far as I understand, the speakers are Kipsch and are among the best, aren't they? Apparently you can still order them with forward facing lights as well. Didn't think that would be possible with the new speaker design.

The multi-screen displays seem like a recipe for trouble down the road. Seems to work that way in the airplane world anyway! Different approach when the user vs the airline/military is paying for troubleshooting.
