  • 2018 X-Star Rumors Thread

I love reading all the speculation and rumors surrounding the next gen X-Star in other threads. I thought I would start a new thread to dream and guess what the new model will be like. I will start..

    23 feet
    50th gel scheme
    Completely new hull design
    More freeboard
    4K in sun floor ballast

Super excited to see a 50th Anniversary scheme. But you're probably right with the freeboard/length stuff to compete with the G23.

      This should get interesting.

I'm hoping that it has the surf wave of the X23 and the wakeboard wake of the Gen2 X-Star loaded down. I think that would be a winner, especially if they have a lot of freeboard, subfloor ballast, and a lot of storage.

Personally I really hope it's a wakeboard-first, wakesurf-second priority for the Star. Seems like everything is surf-first now

Not that I could afford to buy a new 50th Anniversary Star anyway

I just hope it's not a 22ft boat with 2ft long pickle forks. Lol

I hope they take a new styling direction entirely. Needs to be a compelling reason to buy a Star over a G23, and for me they'd have to find a way to keep the nose down at wake speeds.

Better be a lot better than the gen 3 (03-11) xstar. Some other modern boats like the the vlx has surpassed the xstar in wakeboard wake. Your standard is going to be the G23 or M235

I'm also not a fan of the 2' long pickle points that do nothing. For the star to be competive with the G23 it needs:

                  - A CLEAN wakeboard wake at all speeds that isn't sensitive and that's also gigantic
                  - X30 Caliber Surf Wave
                  - Ton of storage (currently the XT23 has the most)
                  - 3k or more of SUB floor ballast (no more silly bags)
                  - killer stereo with 2 subs and 6-8 inboat speakers
                  - some little touches we haven't seen yet, maybe cooled cup holders or something like that.

I hope they go back OG with the drooped bow.. something about that low speed idle profile of an xstar in the water.

That has to be one of the best looking pictures of an X-star.

Dude I love the huge pickle forks!!! In my opinion it makes the XStar look unique and mean. I hope they keep them.

I tend to agree. They don't seem very popular with TT though
