2018 X Star Review

Please give us an in-depth review of the ballast i.e. Subfloor, bags, pumps, etc.

3200 pounds subfloor tanks, 450# bag in each locker. There is a panel on top of the bags which leaves 18" of storage on top. Fills in less than 4 minutes.
Supposed to shift some of the weight from when you change from surf left to surf right. Dealer said it's a new type ballast system, think he called it yoke or something like that.

+1 to this I would like to see "under the skirt" as it were, engine compartment, seat storage, pump locations, the details. I also heard it has a good wake at speeds lower than 18 (for beginners and kiddo's). if you can run it at 16-18 mph.

why would you run full ballast for beginners? if youre running under 21mph you shouldnt have ballast at all unless youre learning inverts or something lol

I wouldn't, just a figure of speech I guess. updated the comment for you Aric.

my 7-year-old runs 16mph (ish) and the 11-year-old was between 18.5 and 19 I think (moose will know his speed, although fairly sure at 18.5).
