Has anyone used the WakeMate on an X2?

I recently purchased a 2007 X2 and I'm looking at suck gate's to use next spring when the weather warms up... I came across a website for WakeMate... does anyone have any experience with their device?

The other one that I am looking at is the Nauticurl... I'm waiting to hear back if that one does fit on the '07 X2 hull.

Thanks in advance for your help!

My buddy has a nauticurl, and it’s very well made. Customer service is awesome too, usually messages him almost instantly back when they have a question. Their float fell off theirs, and he sent them a new one out no questions asked.

I believe it does fit on the X2 hull, people are using it on the X15 which has a similar stepped hull

Nauticurl is well built and I like the fact that they make their own levers in metal instead of the plastic ones that break. Code Nauticurl20 for 20$ off worked a few months back, worth a try.

I had a Mission Delta and it would not fit. Well, it would fit but it would take 15 minutes of struggling in the water to make it fit. It appears that any suction cup larger than 3" will not work. I would be interested in hearing if anyone has actual experience with the Nauticurl on the X2 hull.

One option I have seriously considered is the Wakesurf Edge Adapted Pro Shaper.

I have no input on the X2, but I bought the Wake Mate for my X1 and love it. For the price, you can't go wrong with it.

I have to wonder if there is going to be some patent infringement litigation over all the very similar devices being sold.

If the hull has the steps like the 2006 x2, any suction cups over 3" in Dia will not fit.

Nauticurl is very well made, but would work on the hill of our 08 X2, had to use the BobV5, which made a nice difference.

Cards... you’re saying that you were not able to use the Nauticurl on your 08 X2?

My understating is that the nauticurl won’t fit on the X2.

As others have said there service is amazing!!!! If it did fit no brainer to buy from them.

I don't think that suction will work on the X2. I have the 2007 X2 and use the Wake-shaper. it is well made and after dialing it in the first time it only takes less than a minute to install or switch sides.

Thanks everyone for the thoughts... I hadn't looked at the Wake-Shaper or the Wakesurf Edge Adapted Shaper yet... very helpful, thanks again!

With everyone's comments about how awesome Nauticurl is to deal with, I reached out to Andy with Nauticurl to see if it does fit on the X2. He said it does not, HOWEVER they are coming out with a version for the X2 and other curved hull boats this December. So in 2 months or so...

It will have 3 smaller 2.75" suction cups, and retain the same Nauticurl shaper blade.

Goes to show how awesome these forums are in helping answer questions! Thanks again everyone!

I emailed Nauticurl as well, same response. They sound like a great group of guys over there.
