  • 2010 x14v trim tab install

Talked with my local dealer master craft dealer and they said master craft quit making the trim tab for my boat. I would really like to put one one are there any aftermarket ones out there that are better or worse? Thanks for any input looking to calm the wake down for Ski sets.

Not sure if this helps or not because I don’t know what the hull of your boat looks like in comparison to mine but I have an 06 x15 that I bought last fall and added a trim tab. There is a thread on here that goes over what I did and part numbers. Hopefully it helps.

Here’s another thread where another poster put a custom made wake plate on a 214 DD, Same hull, so might help answer some of your questions...

I have an 08x30. From what I "think" I know, the 2006-2010 hulls are the same. and I think this applies to the x15 as well, I could be very wrong. So, if what I just typed is in fact true (double check this obviously), then maybe the x14 is the same as well? IF that is the case, just get the trim tab made for my hull maybe...

EDIT: sorry, just googled the x14, different engine placement, so not sure what the hull is, could be similar enough...
        08 X30 - deader than dead...and crispy.

I'll just toss this out. I had a 2012 X14V for four years, and the wake plate made very little/no difference for slalom performance on that boat in my opinion. What did make a difference was the following:

          1. Choosing the right prop (I can't remember the final model that I chose, but I went with less pitch and more diameter to lower the RPMs and create a shorter table at 34mph.) Call Jim Thielin at ACME and he can hook you up.
          2. Putting 100lbs of lead in the very front of the bow and 100lbs under the observer seat to pull the engine slightly back out of the water and balance out the boat.
          3. Running with less than 1/2 tank of fuel.
          4. Slalom wake was best at 15-22 off
          5. Handle low, knees bent!

          Good luck,
