  • I cannot get my fuel line off!

I bought the plastic set of fuel line tools that fit 5 different lines sizes. It won’t slide under that metal locking thing in top of the line. Does something have to be done with that “lock” first? It’s not really a lock but it’s some piece of metal that come from on top of the line and kind of holds the line in place maybe. If you’ve done this before you know what I’m talking about Thanks!

If you are talking about the clip then you need to remove it before you can use the tool to release the fuel line.

Ok, thanks. How do I remove it exactly? I assume you don’t mean actually REMOVE It, but somehow disengage the clip? Should I use a little screwdriver to pry it up? Do I push the tube a little forward first? Sorry for the dumbass questions.

Make sure the tool is the correct one- if you damage the end(s), the line could come apart and at pressure, that's a huge fire hazard.

        Post a photo.

I gotcha. My only question is how to get that clip disengaged to be able to get the fuel line tool in there

I’ll see if I can get one in a bit. And do I need the disconnect both batteries first? Hard to get to the second one.

Not a bad idea to disconnect them- also, they told us at MC training to wear a grounding wrist strap to prevent static discharges when it's dry (like Winter, working indoors, wearing pants and scooting around on the carpet). I doubt you'll have a problem in higher humidity, though.

The clip has prongs that slide inside the line and then two clips that are under the orange hose. Once you get the clips off the side under the hose, slide it forward and you’ll be set.

Yep /\ /\. What he said. Roll the orange sleeve back some to expose more of the clip and fuel hose.

So the clip I can undo with just my hands? And I’m not moving enough of the orange cover back to see the rest of the clip?
