Great review, I am having same issues with wave consistency, and reading between the lines here why wouldn’t MC use actuators with position sensors built in, problem solved.

How you guys are tweaking XStar surf wave? What is working for you? I haven’t had enough time on smooth water or without the whole family to learn test and tweak.

Seems fair for what you’ve gone through...or maybe they can give you the first X22 off the production line.

Redline in madison did a demo today with the x24 and Jack Pine wakesurf boards. We had 12 people on the boat and did some surfing. The new x24 is awesome! Jack Pine wakesurf boards are just as good!

My comparison is to a '15 x10 with wake maker's 820s and my '18 x23 with a 1100 lb bag across the back seat. I loved the x10 because i didn't have to screw around filling a ballast bag, the fills times did get excessive but it was a great wave. We primarily ride the x23 with just my 135 lb wife, a toddler, and a baby. With just this small crew and stock ballast the wave leaves a lot to be desired. With 3 extra adults in addition to my typical crew, the wave is so good. Ideally I would have 500 lbs of lead as far back as i could get it, but the boat loaded with fuel and gear is at the limit of my 6000 lb lift. So to save my lift we use a 1100 lb bag for our small crew.

In the x24 today we had 12 adult sized people and everyone fit comfortably. We had the boat tied up next to my x23, it's definitely larger in size. The interior space didn't feel that much larger, but the gunnels were about 8 inches higher especially noticed at the rear of the boat. The x24 had the rear facing seats on both the side benches. We put them down as they took up too much seating space with that size of a crew. Cool feel oyster beige interior was nice!

The fast fill was impressive, an option i would definitely get with my next boat. The wave was incredible! The steep was so tall that i was thrown off my surf game. The wave has so much push back into the curl, you can ride effortlessly in the wash of the curl. The guys from Redline were saying that there is so much customization of the wave. We were riding the stock steep settings at 11 + mph. Again i was thrown off my game with the mellow setting. It is long!

I would like an apples to apples comparison of the x24 with a small crew and an 1100 lb bag across the back seat like we do in my x23. I wouldn't make the leap until i was able to do that. I would need to get an 8,000 lb lift, so putting lead in the boat would definitely be an option.

They optioned the boat with the 6.2 which was great in this boat. With the huge crew and full ballast the boat didn't struggle at all. I can say the 6.2 in my x23 full of ballast and people gets on plane with ease using single tab auto launch. If i was ordering the x24 it would definitely have the 6.2. I would consider the 7.4 but we do about 150 hours/year so i worry about how many fuel cans i have to carry to the boat lift.

Jack Pine is a wakesurf board company located in the Madison area. Their boards were sweet! I highly recommend them, in fact I am ordering a Bad Axe in the next couple days. I have two soulcraft boards, which are obviously excellent. My only gripe with my current soulcrafts are the skimmer is too slippery and the voodoo is not slippery enough. The Jack Pine bad axe has the speed of the soulcraft voodoo, but has a looser tail which makes the spins easier. These guys hand make their boards just like soulcraft. Also interesting about Jack Pine, they use wax on the front of the board rather than the foam gripper material. I was skeptical, but it's awesome! I was pleasantly surprised at how grippy wax is. I would say it provides more grip than the foam i have on my soulcrafts. Overall Jack Pine boards are definitely worth a look. Like I said, I'll be ordering one this week.

Redline is an awesome dealership. I can't say enough about their customer service. It was so nice of them to take us out today, Jackson and Keegan are great dudes and Paul runs a great business!

I got a chance to go surf the X24 again and had a much better wave experience. I think we got the tab thing sorted out. Jason at Stancraft is persistent about getting it right and awesome to deal with.

I rode my x23 today with an extra 1100 bag in the back. The x24 with 12 people was about twice as big.

What is the status on the rear bags in the X24? Does it have bags in the rear compartments? Or a false floor with the bags underneath like the XStar?

Basically the same setup as the X23. Exposed bags under the seat... the only difference is that there is now more room on top of the bags for "storage" (read - more ballast)

                                Instant deal breaker for me.........

No way I am going back to a boat with no rear storage. It is WAY too handy to have all my jackets and ropes back there..... they are easily accessible from the swim platform for the rider, and I’m not having to constantly ask people to get up and move all the time.

I didn’t realize how great it was, until I had a couple boats with nice rear storage. I’m not going back.
