Hi everyone, I'm brand new to owning a MasterCraft (though my parents had a 1977 S&S for nearly 40 years), and I'm trying to find out the fuel tank capacity of my 1992 205. I've taken it out once, but the tank was full when I bought it, so I don't know how much it holds. Also can't find it in the owner's manual. Any pointers would be appreciated. Thanks!

There is a sump in the tank... 3 gallons would proll give u an inch or less in the tank. Careful on filling up. Gasket on top of tank may seep and put fumes into bilge.

No need to remove the fuel cell completely. The fuel filler hose is a pain in the rump....hardened and will not slide off / out from the top deck-side as it may appear. Best way to remove the hose is to cut it off with a box knife and put on a new one to save hours of fruitless effort and scratches to the deck finish. Been there.
Suggestion:
For ease and convenience; your fuel cell can be rotated on the fuel filler hose with the hose in place...remove the hold-down brackets from the top and bottom of the cell. Loosen the worm gear clamps on the filler hose and merely rotate the fuel cell on that axis out onto the floor of the boat (filler hose still connected). You can access everything you need by using that method unless you just feel compelled to remove the cell and the pain-in-the-rump hose.
Do not use the open-spark source (the drill) once the fuel system is breached, for screw removal.

Waterlogged, thanks for the great safety tip on keeping screw drills away on this repair.
-I also appreciate the suggestion on rotating the tank to avoid pulling the filler tube. I've replaced the sending unit twice in the '93 PS 205 and your suggestion will save time.
-I added a "Sea Dog" locking gas cap during the last sending unit replacement just to keep people honest
-FYI the new "Centroid" sending units are self calibrating, so they do not have the 2 adjusting screws previous unit had.
