Guys I'm building our dock and wanted some feedback on the slip width. Our boat is a X23 and the dock is currently setup with a 10x26 slip. Is 10' wide enough? I know it's tight when backing in through a 10' garage door, just wondering how tight that's gonna feel while docking. Thanks in advance

X23 Dock slip width?

Is your slip somewhat protected in the lee from wind and water? If so the 10’ feels good vs. your 8’6” beam, but might consider some extra breathing room if it is in the teeth of weather.
If your budget allows, buying the next spec weight lift up is a good idea too for future/other craft. YMMV.

If you are building new consider this style. I absolutely love this concept and my next one will be like this. Slick clean look, secure if in a boat house, great for cleaning. I think I first saw something like it on a post from terribleone.

There must be more like it but this is the one I found.

chieb- the platform lifts are incredible. I've searched for a way to incorporate this into my dock build but haven't come up with anything. The problem is we are not allowed to use pylons or even the lifts with feet that can stand alone. So I may be stuck with a front mount or a 4 point lift, however I'm thinking I can still add decking to the lift so it would have the same look and function as the no profile lifts.

I think our slip is only about 9'6" across. It is plenty of room, no problem pulling the boat in...but I think that is as narrow as you could go comfortably. with bumpers mounted all around, and then the snubbers on each of the dock lines, it is hard to tie the boat up in a manner where it is using the snubbers and not constantly hitting the bumpers... I think I have it dialed in so that it doesn't do that, but there is not much play. The question is not whether life exists after death, but whether you were alive before death - Osho
