    2018 X-Star Height

How big of a door do I need on a garage to fit my 2018 X-Star on trailer?

I searched the forums and couldn't find the final conclusion.

    Based on what I know-
    Tower down- 9’ (maybe 8’6”)
    Tower Up- 12’ (maybe 11,6”)

Ours barely fits through a 9 ft door (less than an inch clearance). It clips the weather strip.

ETA: that’s with the tower down.

Thanks four forty. How confident are you in those numbers?

Was hoping to avoid pulling it out of the water this weekend to measure.

It’s wider too. When we put the trailer in our single stall garage door we had to take the guides off to get it to fit.

Which tower do you have? The ZFT7 is taller then the ZFT4.

I have a 12’ door at my shop, and my XStar fit under it with a ZFT7 on a MC trailer. There was a couple inches of room, and if you have a ZFT4 tower, you might get under a 11’6” door. I’d go 12’ or more to be safe.

Future boats won’t get smaller, so keep that in mind. Also, I’d recommend doing a minimum of a 10’ width.

I have the ZFT4, and was planning on dropping the tower. you have a good point regarding how large these things are getting.

I have FourFourtys 18 XStar and confirmed with my husband that our garage door is 9’. We have the ZFT7 tower.

I think he’s right with the ZFT4 tower. We measured one at the dealership and had the same height!

Absolutely!! It’s a great boat and we’ve gotten a few compliments on it while on the lake. Quite a difference from our 01 X Star! And he’s been super helpful if we’ve had any questions.

Ztf7 sits higher than a ztf4. Low pro trailer vs. regular may also make a difference (not even sure if low pro is an option for the star).

Inwent through the garage door thing this spring. I had an 8’ door and had to raise it up to fit the new boat. I have an ‘18 with ztf7 and normal trailer. The boat on trailer with tower down is 103”.

I raised the door as high as I could, All I had room for was 9’...fits great, not much room to spare.
