  • Brand new x23 questions

    Hi, I just bought a 2018 X23 and have a few questions.

    1) Ballast set up- for times when there are just two people in the boat, how should I be setting up ballast and tabs to make for the highest and cleanest wake on the drivers side?

    2) I just crossed 25 hours and the change oil light came on, is this right? I have owned the boat a week. I'd say 12 hours have been surf hours, a couple of hours wake boarding hours and the rest probably putt putting around at 4 mph.

    3) Is there something I should be putting on the seats to treat in order to minimize sun fade?

    4) Any way to disable the start and stop ear piercing beeping?

    Thanks!

I can answer number 2 for you. The light comes on after the first 25 as the oil need to be changed and the break in oil changed out. Then it will come on every 50 hours.

#3- babes seat saver or 303 works great for me.

Enjoy and let's see some photos

The chirping may be your depth gauge as it comes to depth. You can disable the audible alarm on that or set it to a greater minimum alarm. It is also loud as **** when unloading or loading.

Thank you. I am talking about the chirp when the engine is started and then the two chirps when the engine is turned off.

I already disabled depth finder alert since my dock slip triggers my desired depth alert every time. And yeah, loud as ****

I have an 18 X23 and I don't have any chirping when I start it or shut it off. Must be a setting somewhere.

I added 300 libs of lead (150 under each bag in the corners). Then to get the best goofy wave I have found it works best for me to list the boat slightly by only putting 50% in the port rear tank. Works VERY well for us. We absolutely love our X23 surf wave.

Similar to uplandbird's comment you need to list the boat a bit beyond the standard setting to get a better goofy wave. I also have 150lbs of lead in each rear locker but I do 70% port ballast, change tabs to 100 15 0, and bump speed to 10.9.

I have no clue what beeping you are talking about. Mine doesn't do that.

As someone mentioned, you need to change out the break in fluids after 20 hours so I'd do that.

I also use 303 to protect the seats.

Does the beeping happen when you start the boat? If so get an on board battery charger and use it as much as possible. This type of beep is due to the crank battery be under a specific voltage.

This is how you get the best wave for the X23. The goofy side needs to be listed some and then the wave is money.

I think the alarm you are hearing is the depth gauge. I turned mine off in the settings and never dealt with it again.

Also, for the X23 wave, try to minimize the center tab use, I find that its only needed when trying to clean up the wave in small increments.
