  • Klipsch suddenly drops volume level

I experienxed 2 times during the same day an issue with the Sound System where the volume level dropped considerably. By volume drop I mean that the volume bar stayed eg. at 28, but the actual volume output dropped say 15 points. Only way to render/ fix the issue was to turn boat off and also turn the main switch off and then back on.

Has anyone else experienced the same and is there a permanent fix available. I just updates new software to the dual screen System and that did not fix the issue.

Yes, definitely experience this and the last June release of the sw did not really fix it. Unfortunately, you have to always be aware to lower the volume to zero or 1 before you shut the engine off or key off for it to be louder at lower levels.. it still goes loud, but I would rather hear it at volume 20 than at volume 40 at the same audible level. I really don’t think klipsch is completely aware of this but I know their volume is not linear and could be why. The fix would be to keep your volume setting “saved” and return it to that same state without having to trick it back[emoji849]

I will add to my post that I actually think the problem is with the bluetooth audio especially if I remember correctly. When the incident happens switching to eg.radio the volume is still at normal level.

It does the same when I am plugged into USB unfortunately

Makes me hesitant to update software. Currently on 2018 software.

                I have the following issues:

                1. Loss of volume like above. Only happened to me on USB.

                2. Every hour of so the phone connected to blue tooth gets kicked off. Another phone cannot be connected until the system is powered on and off (with the switch).

                3. Intermittently the Navigation lights won’t work, even after the switch is cycled.

This is a major reason that I'm hesitant to upgrade. My JL system is bulletproof and loud.

The Klipsch system I heard was no where near my JL system.

My upgraded JL system was loud as well on my 07 x30, but I have to say, the klipsch system on my 18 x23 with a couple key upgrades can’t be beat. I did spend quite a few $ to do this, but it is still the best system I have heard in a boat so far. I upgraded tower and subs and I still smile when I crank it. It has its bugs but they are not fatal flaws.. clear clean, sound you can feel now. Yes, it would have been great for it to be like this out of the box, but, c’mon, let’s be honest, our JL systems from the factory didn’t do that either without upgrades

I have to say that the standard Klipsch System is better than the JL System was. I just want them to fix the SW Bugs fast. Why it is better is only to do with the increases size of the speakers and the amount of them. Quality wise I think they are very close. Next week I will install the Klipsch S85 tower speakers which I think will be fine for surfing.
