Ballast for a 2000 X Star

I was looking for some advice for the 2000 MasterCraft X Star we just purchased. We have the center ballast tank but no additional ballast for our boat. I was looking to surf and wakeboard behind our boat. Do you have any suggested or proven to work ballast set ups for a 2000 X Star? I am also hoping to keep ballast out of seating areas so we don't have to compromise capacity.

Pull the hard tanks and plumb 750s . Get the wakemakers plug and play for for the bow(350) pounds. That will set you up for wake boarding. When you surf fill another 750 bag behind the drivers seat and use a suckgate

I have the same hull as you. I did what gwozhog suggests, minus the bag behind the driver. Surf is great on the port side and OK on the starboard side. Don't know about boarding as we don't do that anymore. Previous owner who did board had added several 1-gallon ice cream buckets with lead pellets at the driver's feet and under the observer's seat. Get as much weight as far forward as possible to achieve a 40/60 weight ratio.
