  • 2016 X30 Owners - question

Anyone with a 2016 X30 willing to take a measurement for me?
I’m looking for the distance from the rear most point of the round base of the captain’s seat pedestal to where the floor begins to transition to the angled wall (the wall that contains the subwoofer). What’s the dimension of the floor or the floor covering (Deckadence/carpet) in that narrowest spot?

I can get you a measurement. It will be Thursday though...

i actually have my carpet at home to clean. I can take an exact measurement of the carpet itself, if you like. Later today
        But I have a 2015 x30

The deckedence is 2" at its narrowest point. The space from the pedestal the wall is 3" See attached.

So did MC move the seat pedestal back a couple inches in the 2016 X30? Or are there X30’s from the ‘13-‘16 era in both locations?

I think acarro took his photo 90 degrees from the one I took. The narrowest point on my flooring is where the 2 ends of the flooring come together behind the seat. If you look closely at my photo you can see the split. The split in aracco’s photo is 90 degrees from the split in his carpet. Unless carpet is different than the deckadence flooring.

                    So here’s the skinny:
I wanted to put carpet in my ‘15 but apparently it’s NLA. So I was given the part # for 2016 carpet. Package from MC showed up and I have 2 issues - the small piece under the convertible rear seat is missing and the cut-out for the pedestal doesn’t line up. The pedestal cut-out in the ‘16 carpet is about 2 ½” further back than my ‘15 pedestal. But I’ve also heard of ‘13 X30’s with the seat further back. So is it a year thing or are there 2 different pedestal locations for ‘13-‘16 era X30’s?

Some are narrower at the back of the pedestal and have the slit there. Those that are wider at the back of the pedestal have the slit on the starboard side. (From what I’ve found I don’t think the type of flooring matters). So the question is: is this difference in location by year or just random in the ‘13-‘16 era X30’s?

I believe they upgraded the helm seat in 2016. It appears the new seat may have changed the location of the pedestal.

Im not sure what GoPokes is referring to. Where I took the measurement is right behind the seat, in front of the sub woofer.

I don’t believe he realized that the slit in your cutout is to the starboard side, not to the rear - so he was thinking you took your photo from an angle 90 degrees from his.

Gopokes is correct, they changed the helm seat in 2016 as well as the location of the helm seat, I think they moved it 2”.

I had a 2014 X30 which had spider cracking all over the top- it went back to MC in 2016 and they put a whole new top deck on it...but it was a 2016 top deck. When I went to put my deckadence back in, the hole for the helm seat didn’t line up.
