Good luck. My X22 does the same thing. There are times mine will not work in 10 feet of water tied up to the dock. I talked to my dealer about it and they said MC's position is that its "normal". My 2015 X10 work was solid unless going fast in deep water. Seems like a boat costing twice the price should be able to match that same reliability, but apparently they just couldn't pull it off.

My dealer did mention high and low can bus wiring though I’m not familiar with exactly what it means. My question is, if I happen to bump the bottom and tear up the running gear, is Mastercraft going to cover it and fix it? When you spend as much money as we do/did on a new boat I don’t expect to hear yes it’s a problem and we know it’s a problem but we’re not sure what to do about it and we don’t know how to fix it. My dealer was very apologetic but it seems to be out of their hands.

2020 X22 - same problem plus air temp doesn't work. I have traced all the wires and can't fix it via cave man unplug and plug back in, plan to take it to the dealer in another month or so but living with it for now. If anyone figures it out, please post here and save me a dealer trip/waste of a day. Was also having trouble with the GPS reading speed but that seems to have worked itself out (it would come back on if I went into the navigation screen, almost like the GPS ECU was not initiating/signaling back into the CAN bus). Pretty sure these issues are due to ECUs, Can bus wiring, needed software updates, and potentially defective components - needless to say its complicated.

Please do. My dealer tried tracing wires as best as they could to figure out where the interference was coming from but had no luck. There’s no rhyme or reason as to when mine works and doesn’t. It has a mind of it own. With that being said, it only works 5-10% of the time.

I'm dealing with the same issue on my X26. At the shop now - I'll let you know what I hear for a resolution.

That sounds funky. My X23 seems to read correctly all the time. Although Im not sure Ive ever checked it at WOT because I don't drive WOT.

My Xstar woks intermediately while underway, but works fine at slower speeds.

I was having an issue where it would read like 300 feet and then rapidly count down to the actual depth (like 30 feet)... stay there for a while, then do the same thing over again. that was a faulty triducer which was replaced under warranty.

The depth finders on both of my previous X45’s worked continuously. Constantly reading. Two buddies with X46’s and one with an Xstar read continuously as well.

Mine only works when idling or sitting still. Does not read while underway, I thought that was normal. Is it?

    X24 Depth finder

Have any other X24 owners had issues with their depth finders not working or working intermittently? I was told by my dealer that this seems to be a fairly common issue on the X24 having something to do with electrical interference in the wiring? They told me they had another 2020 X24 in for service the same time mine was there and the depth finder was doing the same thing. It sure makes pulling up at the sand bar fun....
Working...
