    X24 Depth finder

Ok, I have x23 and glad to hear I’m not the only one experiencing these issues.. mine works at lower speeds only and doesn’t really work well when on plane. My analytical brain tells me the placement of the transducer is the issue.. seems like when there is cavitation under the boat, the thing doesn’t work. It definitely should be centered at keel and as far forward as possible (or wherever cavitation is less) when boat is at speed. Problem is there is so much bow rise, that there is little space for this to be effective… again, just technically guessing here. MC should move to some kind of radar depth system that won’t be effected by this other “noise”when the boat is at speed. I know mine works better then I have a balanced load, people in the bow, less bow rise, but you have no idea where potential dangers are otherwise when things are shifted or at different speeds

Good point. I think my main point was Depth Gauge is important..
By my calc #2 Priority, fuzzy math, lol

    #1 - Oil Pressure
    #1a-Coolant Temp
    #1b - Fuel Gauge
    #2 - Depth Finder
    #3 - Voltmeter
    #4 - Tach
    #5 - Speedometer

I am all the way at the headwaters of Table Rock where the average depth is probably 35' and mind only works 1/2 the time. Thankfully I have been on that side of the lake for 25 years and know every contour.

I agree. Where I am the lake is not that deep max 40', so a proper working depth gauge is super important. On my old boat I moved the transducer around to get proper placement, away from running gear, in. an area where it would not get air or turbulence, and it was still intermittent.
Finally spent $130 just for a transducer, adjustable keel angle(so it's shooting straight down), was oil filled, Faria Beede, it wasn't cheap but worked perfectly.

I am not sure the factory really puts a lot of effort in all the variables and testing..

I don't think this an X24 specific issue, my 2019 XStar experiences the same, currently have a bi-ducer on order to see if it fixes the intermittent operation

Sorry to bring up an old thread, but was there any update to this issue. Is this still an issue for all X24's? Thinking about upgrading to an X24, but it's crazy to think the depth finder would not be operational on that boat.

I paid for it when I purchased the boat as far as I’m concerned. I’m going to attempt to have it warrantied. If they refuse then I’ll sort it out from there.

My dealer told me today he's still waiting for a response from MC re: my depth finder. We shall see...
