  • How hard does your ballast pump (Pee) out water?

I was curious how hard your ballast pumps pump out water.. I have a new to me 06 X2 that I am about to upgrade to the piggyback ballast upgrade. The pumps seem to fill fine, and pump out water as well, however, its not a solid stream like my sunami pump used to do when we used to do sacs. I was more of a spray, if that makes sense.. I was curious changing the pump impellers would impact that, or if that is just the way they do. Thanks for the help!

I’d say that’s normal for an ‘06. Never hurts to install new impellers but it won’t be a solid stream.

Yup, sounds about right. It’s not like a stream that would come out of a hose but rather a constant spray on my ‘06 X30.

my o5 shoots out like a jet. Your impellars are garbage. Dont waste your money on the ones from wakemaker. They are trash. This is what I use.

And I just replaced with a new set of green impellers!

James, it’s worth giving your ballast system a good once over. I have the same year boat and some of the hoses were cracked. Actually aside from engine cooling system rubber hoses, I’ve had to replace most of the others.
Both bilge pump hoses are cheap and cracked. Not good when you need the bilge pumps!
Ballast was ok except where I previously re routed Original hoses with a tighter bend, they cracked.
Also read up on flipping your ballast pumps over.
They’re factory mounted with pumps facing up for easy impeller replacement but the slightest leak in the pump seal takes out the motor. Flipped all mine a long time ago and I’m still on the original motors, knock on wood...

I think what your seeing is normal if they fill fine.
No it doesn’t look like a garden hose solid stream. The water fans out. Probably shoots out 2’ + when emptying a single side. Shoots 4’ if emptying both sides simultaneously.
