Seriously though gang, you already know but have a fire extinguisher on board! Scared the crap out of me. No idea the cause but the flames were right above the gas tank. Guessing fuel line issue.

Got lucky I think. And yes, we have Chubb, which is awesome. Looks like engine is probably fine and I wish the seats were more damaged but guessing it’ll wipe off. I need new seats! Or a new boat...thanks all.

            Holy Smokes! Literally.
Sorry to hear, glad no one injured...
Please do tell the cause if you determine.
            Boat is totaled. Parts available!

I’d like a MCX for my 86 Chevy pickup! If you were closer.

Honestly tell the ins co where to pick it up and to hurry with the check. And start boat shopping!

It’s 50/50 if they fix this or total it. Fire damage can be fun to fix and diagnose where it came from.

Also this. You have an insurance claim to manage. Don’t bring attention to yourself.

Valid point. I’m sure it will be dealt with properly. I do love this boat I have to say.

I’ll let you know what they come up with as the cause. Still guessing fuel line issue but I have no idea. Nice thing is quite a few boats came over to check on us and offer help and more extinguishers. Good people out here

Thanks man! Everyone was safe. I made my wife move to the front of the boat, ready to jump.

Depending on where in the water you were, you were almost better off letting it burn...
