  • I bought it from another dealer that is out of state but boat looks brand new and all worked fine two weeks ago when I tried ballast and surf wave. It is under warranty so I hope I can get it all resolved quickly.. batteries show 14V and they are a year old too because boat is 2020 but this is all new to me so idk, I left them on one night a week ago or so might try to charge them.. stbd pump was making weird noises like it was turning on and off every sec but now it doesn't do anything at all so I guess it's dead...taking it to the dealer next weekend..

    • Prop is OJ 846, I think it was getting up to speed what was set on surf profiles but I will have to check on rpm and top speed..

          • Fun X22 fact: if you leave the battery selector switch on for 2 weeks by accident, the standby draw is enough to drain the primary completely flat in that time.

Yes sir, There is a solenoid that you can bypass to fix this. But I just try to remember the switch. One of the guys at my dealer was not sure why they did this.

I found out after our 1st outing when I got home at dark and notice the rear view camera had a red glow ring around it.

Yep, the stupid IR light. I realized that the first time when one of our cameras caught it glowing at night and realized it must be powered full time when the boat is powered. Normally I'm religious about shutting it off but somehow failed to do so this time. Oh well, just hoping the battery isn't too far gone and the charger will get it back to normal!

                • My wife spent hours designing an X22 yesterday after we decided to sell our X20. Told me it was as much fun as some of her gaming. She's already decided on a color scheme and option that "are definitely what we should get!" Even tho she is ready to place an order I'll be waiting until I see whats new for 2022. I can't sell the X20 until end of the season so may even wait until next year to see if they do a major update or have new models.

I hope to get to demo later this summer but my dealer doesn't even know if they will have anything to demo this year. They have nothing in stock and everything coming in is sold.

Other than a new warranty, our main reason for upgrading is to get a bigger longer surf wave. Moosehead seams to really have this boat dialed in and MCOR's wave below is quite impressive.

Looking through post it doesn't seems like anyone is adding more than 4-500lb of additional ballast on X22. Has anyone been able push wave even bigger with even more weight?

                  • ^W, have not added that much ballast, but when the crew is medium to heavy, it is a freakin Tsunami.

This is last night stock 100% ballast, 35% port surf tab, 3 crew aboard @ 11.4mph.

                      • Heck yeah Tchur! I'll PM you.

Moose, if a big crew really improves the wave then wouldn't you think the X22 can handle a lot more extra ballast? Ever feel like you have too much weight and start to lose shape?

                        • We were out this weekend and had 400lbs of lead with a crew of three plus the surfer. With the stock mellow setting, our kids kept asking for it to be smaller. I told them to shut up and surf. [emoji23]

I’ve run the Xstar and X24 with thousands of pounds over stock ballast. Never have I had it lose shape, it just keeps getting better!

What I have noticed is that you need to add more speed the more weight you add, or else the wave gets mushy. There is also a diminishing return, so yeah it gets better with more weight, but you reach a point where you don’t notice an improvement unless you are making significant weight additions.

Ok thanks diminishing returns makes sense. I haven't heard of anyone slamming a X22 like some have done with an Xstar and was wondering if there is a reason.
