I can't sell the X20 until end of the season so may even wait until next year to see if they do a major update or have new models.
I hope to get to demo later this summer but my dealer doesn't even know if they will have anything to demo this year. They have nothing in stock and everything coming in is sold.
Other than a new warranty, our main reason for upgrading is to get a bigger longer surf wave. Moosehead seams to really have this boat dialed in and MCOR's wave below is quite impressive.
Looking through post it doesn't seems like anyone is adding more than 4-500lb of additional ballast on X22. Has anyone been able push wave even bigger with even more weight?

Finally getting the quality time to dial this boat in and absolutely loving it! This is with no crew, 500 lbs of lead placed evenly bow to stern. 11.3, 40 tab. 100% in all tanks. Shot on iPhone 12 pro max.
PS, not shown, we flashed the screens with the latest software build that's on the 2021 boats. So so much better interface. Absolute must.

TXMC gave me a USB with files for the main screen and secondary. Just insert into USB down below the throttle and navigate to the settings menu for update.
Below is updating screen 2...
Then screen 1....

Mine is a 2020 model. I recommend checking with your dealer service department or contacting mastercraft to confirm compatability.
I'll take some pics when I get back up to the dock.
You can get a glimpse of it around 6:30 in this video.

Mastercraft needs to make updates available via spark for those of us with wifi on our docks and put them somewhere on the internet for downloads. While most dealers are great with oil changes, but you ask them to email you some zip files and they look at you cross eyed.

Totally agree. Most dealerships haven't kept up with the technology. Even most people at Mastercraft or any other boat manufacturer are clueless about this stuff. Being the GSA control system designer I get treated a little differently by the TXMC guys as well. Not sure they would just hand over the USB to most customers.

Totally agree, but I mostly blame Murphy/Enovation. In fact, go surf assist was born as a middle finger to Mastercraft when someone (Ryan) purchased a brand new gen 1 X45 only to see gen 2 appear the following year. Some of the obsolescence can't be avoided in a rapidly evolving product space. The issue was mastercraft wouldn't even consider offering him an upgrade package and even went so far as threatening to void the warranty if he made any modifications.

Caveat* I'm only guessing based on hearsay and can't be sure without talking to someone at mastercraft or looking more closely at the hardware of an older boat. But I had the dual screens on my 2018 XT22 and have them on my 2020 x22. The external hardware like the actuators is the same. The new actuators with position sensors are new to 2022. Likely it is only certified by Enovation/Murphy for specific hardware builds of their screens/modules. And possibly there were some internal changes from 2019 to 2020. But again, only speculation.
