Exhaust tip upgrade. I wanted stainless tips, and saw that many are using the Malibu turndown tips. I can't bring myself to put Malibu parts on the boat, and like the look of the angle cut better better than turn down.
I bought the tips from Eddie Marine. They have many different sizes/styles to meet your project's needs. I used these: https://www.eddiemarine.com/shop/exh...e-3-1-2-w-flap
The install was pretty straightforward. Remove old tips and clean area. Note that a right angle adapter on the impact with an extension made this a lot easier. I had to enlarge the opening in the hull from 3.5" to 4" to fit the new tips and trim the hose back about 1.5" inside the hull since the tips are 4" that taper down to 3.5". Trimming the hose would have been 10x easier if I just pulled it out, which I should have done. I ended up using a 1.5" saw blade in my dremel, made mess. Once the hull was marked, I trimmed with a rotozip bit in my dremel, drilled the 3 new holes, and chamfered all the edges. Apply 4200 to the hull and tip (2 beads), and fasten with #14 stainless screws.
