Any one else going?

I'm taking a mini vacation to my old stomping grounds that weekend. I haven't been since 2000.

I was looking forward to skiing in the pacific, but after the shark attack out at Catalina I'm thinking I'll just stay on the boat!!

2021 Catalina Waterski Race

Hard to believe or describe the difficulty of this athletic effort. 60 miles of open ocean water skiing in 60-90 minutes. Sharks look like the least of it.

Yeah, I grew up in SoCal, been to the race many times, was a navigator for Jr Men's and my best friend was the race director for like 10 years.

The Long Beach Boat and Ski Club is a wonderful group of people.

The 52 miles in 45 minutes is crazy.

Top this off I think I'm going to drive to Vegas Sunday morning after the race.
