  • 2013 x30 Where is the fuel filter

    Hello everyone.

    I have a 2013 x30 6.0 Ilmor open cooling system.

I purchased a fuel filter from Ilmore direct. According to their website and tech support it is a solid metal inline high pressure filter. I cannot find where it is located? Is this correct or is it in the tank with the pump? Sorry for the dumb question I cannot find anything on this. Also just to confirm no water separator on this boat correct?

    Thanks

It is an in-tank pump, fuel filter is mounted on the bottom of the pump, you have to remove the pump to change. And, correct, no water fuel separator filter.

Try Inboard Garage. (www.inboardgarage.com). They are very helpful.

I think this is what you need but I would double check with them. You'll need 2 of these - 1 for each pump cartridge. There are 2 pump cartridges in your fuel pump assembly.
Your one stop source for all MasterCraft, Ilmor, Klipsch Marine, Indmar, and other Inboard Parts & Accessories!

If you replace the fuel filters, you'll also need a new gasket that goes between the pump and tank and 12 new bolts and washers that hold the pump to the tank.

Its not really meant to be serviced like the old in-line fuel filters. There is no recommended service interval

Well if that is the case I'm going to let the 3 bottles of HEAT do their job and make sure to dump seafoam along with Stabil from now on.

So the reason I went down this rabbit hole is the boat seems to idle a little rougher than normal. Could just be me. Just a little more shake than normal. It is fine in drive except when I give it a hair throttle on forward idle. I don't think it is the prop or the shaft but what do I know. How do you check the shaft for trueness and anything else to do or look at. Or is this all normal and my MCOCD?

                Thanks!
