  • Check Engine Light MCX

I have a 2007 X14 with the 350 HP MCX (Chev 350 cc engine). I'm getting a Check Engine light and went to put a code reader on it, but the connector is a 10 PIN vs a 16 pin connector. Has anyone found out how to read the codes from the dash display? Is there a reader adapter that works? I've already replaced the Throttle body assembly and that made the problem go away the first time. Not sure how to figure out what's wrong now. Feedback appreciated! Bruce

Your 07 is a MEFI5 and you cannot use a MEFI 1-4 reader with it.

You'll need either a MEFI burn or DIACOM cable and software to read codes from that ECU.

Buy the code reader if you can wrench. Most dealers will read codes and replace parts based on error codes.. for what you spend on that you can get the reader can't talks about

They may use a reader, but seeing data is much better.

I have a 2008 X15 with the Indmar MCX engine. Anybody know what code SPN 136 FMI 3 is telling me? It pops up when im in gear at idle. The manual skips right over 136. I found a generic j1939 code list that says SPN 136 is Auxiliary Vacuum Pressure Reading.

Do you diacom or another type of code reader? If you have diacom you will just need to get the can adapter

Also do not believe there is anyway to read codes off of the displays in 2007. Some codes will reset after 3 cool off cycles but do not think you get any information other than check engine and the annoying buzzer.
