Seadek everywhere, Better audio (JL ftw), Coolest/most functional tower in the industry, Bimini with rope pockets, 3 step walkthrough, Crazy interior lighting, ZZ8 Motor (600hp/608tq), Surf switch, Port flip seat... (and that's all standard)
This is just my opinion, but I think the P23 looks better on the interior. The star looks better on the exterior. Also, I priced out a P23 last night and it came out to $322k MSRP... maybe I'm not seeing something?
Grab an updated price sheet from a dealer for the pricing after the first of the year….. it will add about 22% to that number, and then throw a another 15k on for the trailer. They are just about $400k with the latest price increases….
Confirm my buddy just dropped $345k on a P25 late Spring 2021.
Other than when he surfs our X22 he seems pretty happy.
This arms race ain’t gonna end well.

That’s what I’m afraid of. Going to a P23 and regretting the wave. To be fair, I haven’t demo’d a XStar S yet and there doesn’t seem to be a lot of info on the forum from those that have theirs.

I bloody hate seadeck. Will give you audio is worlds better. Think the tower is awful and it’s been breaking and falling down. Bimini isn’t huge to me but Malibu has had the rope pockets forever. I like the walkthrough a lot as well. What on earth could you need 600hp for though? I’ve driven a loaded stock prop X26 with the 7.4 and it was a rocket.
While I much prefer the styling cues of MC and think the paragon is the second ugliest boat on the water, I don’t see what warrants a P23 over a loaded Xstar S with the power tower other than the extra horsepower and a stereo. I also don’t think the price increases have hit their build a boat yet.
Build quality between the two will be subjective. Both put out the two best boats on the market, and both will always have some lemons from time to time. But the pricing is hilarious to me. What on earth can you do behind a 330k boat that you can’t do behind a 130k boat? Can I possibly be that much better?

- no.
100% agree with that.
Though, I do think the Paragon is cool. I think it's for the person who wants to have the absolute best tow boat on the market, and it's definitely marketed that way. I guess thats another thing that MC lacks, which isn't really a bad thing, but it'd be cool if they came out with a direct competitor that is marketed as being the "best thing ever made".

I thought that's what the Pavati was for - if you make it the most expensive boat, the people that have to buy the most expensive boat on the market because that is clearly the best boat on the market will buy it. That way they can tell everyone that they bought the best boat, which is how they can say they are so rich, they bought the most expensive boat when they say best boat. It's the insinuating I'm rich brag.
Sold my '18 G21 in August after one season. We enjoyed the heck out of it (115hrs), but it just wasn't the right boat for me. I had my heart set on an a new XT21 for next year. The combination of the traditional bow, MC hips, new Z8 tower, and SurfStar had me...until my dealer gave me the quote. I just about fell on the floor. And that was before the most recent price increase. As much as I'd like to pull the trigger on a new MC - I'll be staying on the sidelines until all of this craziness sorts itself out.
I just pulled the trigger on a '21 SANTE 210 with 34hrs. It's the last of a dying breed. A 21ft, 4200lb, traditional bow. Have a feeling I may hang on to this one for awhile!

The pricing over the last 5-10 years always boggles my mind, but even more crazy is that people continue to buy them! I can't imagine not having at least a smidge of buyers remorse on a $250-300K toy that can only be used a few months a year in the majority of the states. For those who can afford to do so without regret, that's great--it must be nice to be you! So many other ways I could think to spend part of that money and still own a great boat (or two).
Not in this day and age. Handshake agreements don’t mean much anymore
Having a written order by the dealer, signed paperwork of intent to purchase at a specified price, and a large deposit, plus our boat in trade (already at the dealer and actively selling) constitutes more than a handshake deal in my opinion. I hope MC honors the pricing agreed with the dealer for boats on order and deposits paid.

It hasnt been updated yet. It is still 2021 prices on their site. 2022 prices went up about 9%, and then another increase was added of about 10%ish for anything being built after 1st of the year. Current actual build prices if ordered today are about $400k for the Paragon..... And then add the trailer.
