2022 mc boat(s) price increases?

Just 4 months ago my wife was designing an X22. Last night she was picking colors for a NXT24. How quickly fortunes change. Price bump in July for 22's was bad enough. Now instead of off season discounts there's a winter increase?! Is this more a supply issue than demand? I'm keeping my X20 for now. I started looking at 26' cabin cruisers last night. Anyone turn one into a surf machine? Plenty of room for ballast and talk about rear loungers. Way cheaper than MC and comes with a nice little apartment. I could be living lakefront.

Seems to be a bit more used boat inventory now - up here in the north-country the season is winding down. Not sure prices have moderated at all (for example - a 2007 Bayliner on CL for $9500) , but you could probably negotiate a bit with someone who otherwise faces winter storage.

As long as MC is selling out build slots to a high enough %age they've got leverage to hike prices. Doesn't look like that's going change any time soon. I put more money into my "old" boat this year and it seemed like another chunk of change, but looking around the market....not so much. Looking forward to 2022 now !

Used boat values due to covid allowed me to recover 100% of my 14X2 cost new. Yes I had to pay more for the 21 XT21 but the gap was a lot less with the boost in used value. This is probably my last new boat purchase. Prices are gone way beyond the blue collar worker who used to be Mastercraft buyers.

Yes, I can probably sell my boat for close to what I paid for it new 7 years ago, which is crazy. But then I have to come with 50% more to get the equivalent new boat, which is also crazy.

Boat prices are still ridiculous. 8 year old Moombas are still selling for more than what they sold for when they were new.

Used boat prices are tanking quick. Makes no sense buying new now and paying an extra 12 percent markup.

That’s a pretty broad statement - used prices tanking. What are you basing that on?

Seems like a lot of people with 2020 and 2021 boats testing the market to see if they can unload their summer toy but they’re certainly not giving them away.

id have figured the opposite with the new msrp continuing to climb id have figured the demand for lightly used stuff would go up and keep those prices higher? plus that covid price bump for all things outdoors

I've clearly been left behind in the dust for the target new boat buyer. I don't see myself ever buying a new MC again with what boat prices have done in the last 5 years. Hopefully my 2014 has many many years left in it. I had a hard time with the 2014 price at that time.

We almost bought a 2021 XT22 in April and decided to wait. The X20 really has a great wave. We surfed several boats this summer and enjoyed our wave just as much as the bigger boats. We just wish we had a couple extra feet, but it's not worth the night prices today.

I really wanted an X22 until I saw the price. I love my MCs, but the are a one trick animal and my water activities are changing as I get older. I love to surf and wakeboard, but I find we don't do that as much anymore and want to run to the islands/fish more.

Yes the X23 is a good rough water ride boat for an inboard, but it has its limitations. Running 30 mph, I'm at 4000 rpm and drinking gas with the limited 60 gallon tank. My boat is paid off in April next year so we have decided as a family to not purchase a new MC.

My next boat will be a center console and if I play my cards right, ill have a new CC and the MC for days we want to get on the water and surf. To me that the best of both worlds.

My 2015 X23 has been such a reliable boat I hate to get rid of it.

You can buy a house for what they are asking for a boat! A hole in the water that you are pouring money into. I wouldn't buy an airplane for that kind of money. A hole in the sky you pour money into. Just don't buy, when they can no longer sell these things, the prices will have to come down.
