The 10 speed is Ford's best transmission yet. Kinda funny that Ford and GM collaborated on transmissions, and GM went ahead with using Ford's 10 speed while Ford decided GM's 9 speed wasn't good enough for their FWD cars.

Ford's 8 speed is a GM 9 speed with one clutch removed.

Still must have used some engineering expertise, particularly the shift patterns.

Did not know that. I did know that initially, Ford stuck to the 6 speeds for a while rather than using the 9 speed.

Care to elaborate? I’ve had both a GM 10spd and the ford 10spd in both half ton and now 3/4. Shift patterns definitely don’t feel the same.

I mean that the programming team (at least on Ford's side) must have collaborated. GM's programming team would have been completely separate from Ford's team, as transmission programming on modern cars are tied into the ECU.

I guess I don’t follow. Completely different engines programmed completely different to suit different transmissions in the 3/4 tons.

I just switched from a 2015 F150 5.0 6 speed to a 2019 EB 10 speed. So different! I think the 19 rides softer, (mushy) than the 15. The 10 spd is a great design.
Fan of the vent shades - I’ll be installing them on the new truck.
I’m leveled and can’t decide on a wheel tire choice. These are the front runner at this point.
