  • 2017 1/2 Ton Truck-Off - Sierra vs F150

    Anybody compared the two yet?

I would probably be looking at a sierra Denali 6.2 vs lariat f150 with the ecoboost.

With it being the first year of the 10 speed transmission and new ecoboost engine... definitely gives me pause on the 150, but so do the baffling issues with the GMC (sierras are affected as well, right?)

    Anyone driven both?

10 speed and new ecoboost are in the raptor only

Not that I pay close attention, but are there baffling issues in the Sierra? I hadn't heard that - only in the Tahoe/ Yukon/ Suburban line. Fortunately we don't have that problem in the wife's Tahoe.
      Prior boats - (3) X14's, (3) Prostars, and a Tristar.

          Nope...

Now, there is a different tune on the 3.5 in the raptor making a lot more HP... but port and direct injection rolled out over all 3.5l V6 ecoboosts

Must be pretty new. Was looking at ordering and almost bought a new 150 a month or so ago.

                I saw that too.
It was only for the "Raptor" model on the order sheet.

If you do go with GMC, take a serious look at the 6.5' box instead of the shortbox. Way better ride. I just got my '17 Sierra with the "long box" and have zero regrets.

1500 or 2500? My '15 Silverado 1500 LT rode fantastic and my '16 Sierra SLT (All Terrain) rides even better. Both with the crew cab short box.

The thing I noticed right away was on washboard gravel and these two sets of railroad tracks I drive over just about every day. My 2014 would try and go sideways when I hit these. To this one, it's just a bump on the road. Highway to highway, I haven't noticed a significant difference.

You know I wasn't sure if I would like it or hate it when I ordered, but it's only a foot. They hide it fairly well I think.

What issues are you talking about on the new GMC?

                              My father has a 16 Silverado 6.2L 8speed with zero issues. I have a 2014 6.2L with zero issues.

The 6.2L is hands down the best engine in a 1500 on the market. You will never convince me a v6 with a turbo is the way to go.
