Agree! Wrangler is over until they do a blank sheet redesign. It’s not a serious modern vehicle and only thrived so long with so little investment by FCA because it had no real competition.

They don't have to do much to the Wrangler. Jeep people want it kept the same. They want solid axles, the Jeep grill, and round headlights. The soccer moms driving 4 doors don't care they ride rough, they care that it looks cool.
I don't know what a serious modern vehicle is, but Jeep does some serious sales with the Wrangler.
Back in the early 2000s with the TJ model, Jeep was selling about 80k units/year. Looking at the sales climb, it doesn't appear their small investment matters. The Wrangler practically sells itself.
I feel the new bronco will be similar to the rebirth of the Thunderbird. It will be around for a few years and have ok sales, but will end up phased out from the production line up again. IMHO.
How does the Bronco drive compared to the newer wranglers? Is it better on the streets and highways? Yes I said it, I don't care how it does on the MOAB trial.

Drives so much better. Does not “drive like a Jeep”. Has much better road manners.

I think the removable roof, off road SUV market is way different than the throwback convertible market. I do see your point, but I think the bronco will stand the test of time. The Bronco sport may fit your model. JMO.

Agree with John. The Thunderbird never made it past launch. The dealers tried to screw everyone on price, the car was delivered without the intended engine which made it a lack luster performer and quality wasn't there for the price they were asking.
So far in contrast Ford has delivered a package with better performance, more options to customize the vehicle to your taste, better pricing and has handled the launch much better. Even during a pandemic. Gouging by dealers has been kept to a minimum and anyone could get on a list to pre order at list price.
From a market perspective just look what's out there. I mean there are few cars as manufactures have moved to SUVs and crossovers. Worse all those look the same. The Bronco (like the Jeep) break from the mold of the Escape look and offer a choice of customizing a vehicle you can make your own. Even my wife likes it which is very unusual. I had strongly considered one as a toy but went with a 1970 Mach 1 instead.
