I tried a friends air chair this weekend and had a blast. Now I need one. I don't need anything too fancy but I am also not sure I want to buy an old airchair that I might outgrow in a month.

I found a barely used Sky Ski SS for sale locally. What would a good price be?

Mike Murphy at Nextfoils is an excellent source for a ski just as you described. He's the inventor of the hydofoil too, so fun to talk to. Mike enjoys getting people into the sport and buys used skis to resell at fair prices to guys just like you, wanting to get into the sport.

I'm new to the sport and started on a second hand high performance setup and don't regret it one bit. So with that said, I have no idea how the local Sky Ski SS will treat you. I would give Mike a call. He will shoot straight. If the SS is a good ride, he'll tell you.

welcome to the addiction, you will ultimately spend a bunch upgrading over time, get the most ski you can with the money you are willing to spend now. Luckily you can upgrade components individually, a tower one year, wings the next, lightweight board the next...or if you are flush with cash you can get a great ski all at once and spend $3-$5k

We ski most weekends on Allatoona, if you want to hit it with us let me know.

I wish I was closer to you guys....Im in central Ga and got an older aichair last year almost on accident. Now I need some help/tips (can't seem to figure out how to get any air), and would love to try a higher end ski.

where do you consider central GA? worth a drive on any given Sunday, my lake neighbor and I go out virtually every sat/sun. Hearing advice and seeing foilers that are better than you is like gold.

I may have to try and hook up with you guys. I can ride pretty well, but the concept of getting air is kinda messing with me. I cant seem to keep my body position so that I don't get pulled over forward. Any tips? ( I have landed a few back flips while letting go of the rope though, I know its doesn't truly count....but its cool to me....lol )

Allatoona, probably 1:55 from Macon, i was down that way last weekend at the Mercer game, Lake is 0:35 northwest from Midtown Atlanta.

Come on up, my neighbor has gainers on both sides , back wake roll on one side, forward wake roll on the other. I jump, a lot.

PM if you want to come up.

come ride with us, ride our skis, riding with others always helps. Everybody has gone through the learning curve, much easier if you get help.

Headed out the door right now to work with what I hope to be my new weekly ski partner. There's a learning curve, its an investment, but WELL worth it. He is actually a member here and maybe will chime in.
