My buddies and I are interested in learning to Wakeskate. Any suggestions for our first board? We could have riders from 160 to 230lbs. Do you have to wear shoes?

As far as driving goes, is it the same as pulling a wake boarder? 18-22mph? Same rope length?

I look forward to your input.
What are you gonna do with a pontoon boat, re-take Omaha Beach?

Ride the same as you would a wakeboard. To start, I always stood completely upright in the water, with the board under my feet, but that's how I start on a wakeboard too. For your first board, I'd suggest a wood deck with griptape. They're cheap and really durable. My local MC dealer has several old Cassette blanks in a padded case for $50.

Wear shoes, and bring a towel, you're gonna get wet!

I saw a video on youtube where they stand sraight up in the water to start too. Seems odd. Didn't think that would work on a wakeboard though. I just bought a cheap world industires one today from work. We carry their vendors jet ski stuff and not knowing how much we were going to ride I thought I would give it a try.

Excited to switch it up a little.

Me too. After you're used to it, it's a back saver.

Straight, but tilted slightly higher in the front so it will pull up onto the surface.
