No offense, but nope. It might have a market as a starter rope, but having that thing drag in the flats, taking up all kinds of useable real estate would drive me nuts....

Why not just tie a few knots in a “tubing” rope, cut it 40’ long, and would probably do the same thing except empty my wallet of $189?

I feel like thats some nasty rope burn waiting to happen, if not worse

            Interesting concept. Couple of thoughts;
            - If you're marketing it as a "safer" device, I would hope there is some testing to back that up
            - feels like $189 price point is high. That's about 3x the price of a standard rope / handle setup.

Otherwise, I would be up for trying it out

Rope aft of any water athlete while boat is underway is a NFW, including wake surfer.

Nope, nope and nope on a long, tangle me up, burn, cut and possibly drag me to a drowning death super expensive rope.
Screws fall out all the time, the world is an imperfect place.

it reminds me of that break away rope touted a while ago, sounds OK initially but when you think about it for a few seconds you realise it's a death trap for either the skier or boat occupants or both or even other lake users outside of your sphere.

We had a knotted surf rope with a tiny T handle for years. The knotted portion is not easy to start with. Agree that anything that is easy to pickup is also easy to get tangled up in. Hard to imagine this is safer looking at the YouTube video.

Looks like an impending accident in the making to me too.

I appreciate the feedback. The safety comments are a bit of a surprise, because some of the safety issues we had with the conventional ropes led us here – I’ll just provide our perspective FWIW.

                        Safety:
The rope type and weave help prevent entanglement and is not abrasive. There are no knots, handles, or anything to injure you as the rope goes by, even if you fall directly on it.
Our testers have hundreds of hours using the design and we have had no rider entanglement or rope burn issues. The key is to NOT use it as a conventional rope; no coiling, bunching, throwing, or pulling it forward.

                        Interference:
In big bottom turns the rider can get out to the rope where it can touch them on the back side. Since it is adjustable, you can attach and set it up wider for advanced riders. Otherwise, we’ve never seen a trick that the rope would interfere with.

                        Efficiency:
The rope is easy to drop and recover which is great for beginners, but even as riders progress, it encourages you to “try stuff”, if that makes sense. We never could stand all the rope handling of the conventional ropes, having a passenger throw it to the rider when returning for a pick-up for example. Wake Snake completely eliminated all of that. The amount that this system reduces pick-ups is truly revolutionary.
