  • 2014 X30 Gen2 Wake Surfing Pics and Vids

I have an X25 thread that has almost 23,000 views but there's some mixed pics in there with the X25, X30 and an X45. I'll start a new thread with pics and vids from our 2014 X30. The first few pics and videos are with 2900lbs of ballast and using the Gen 2. The last video is with the boat listed along with using the Gen 2 tab. It's cleaner listing the boat but it's still plenty good for most people using just the Gen 2 but with more weight. Weight will always win. The last two pics show how it was the last time we went out and the second two vids. I'll be making it even better the next trip out. I'll probably post more updated pics and vids on my Instagram @ryandwoon

    Videos first:

Edit added 6.19.14 and this is the best one to watch:

    Edit added 6.4.14

Took my 10yr old Nephew out on the board today for his first time and did some tandem surfing with my wife. Did some goofy riding too:

    Edit: Video added 5.28.14

Video from today (showing the wake, not really for showing my wife surfing as she's just hanging out in this video). We can easily ride 20+ feet behind the boat and it's waist high at the very front and still above the knee at the very back with lots of push and this is at 11.3mph with it knocked down for my wife who likes it not as tall when she rides. This is with the boat listed along with using the Gen2 tabs a little and the center plate down to knock it down.

Enjoy the videos and music you love, upload original content, and share it all with friends, family, and the world on YouTube.

Video from today. Took out Pro Chris Wolter. It was windy and blown out but still some sick surfing!

When surfing port side, which tab are you deploying? Is the Gen2 contributing to that nice wave as it was it engineered to do? Or would that wave be equally as nice with that much ballast using 2013 surf tabs?

Took it out yesterday and played with it. Made a gigantic surf wake in a few configurations with some big curl too. I'll try and post some pics and a vid when I get a chance.

The 13 tabs don't do anywhere near what the Gen 2 tabs do. Not even close.

Great pics by the way. Love the tandem surfing with the youngster.

What do you think your go to weighting configuration will be Ryan now that you have had a chance to play with it quite a bit?

Things like this make me very jelly. Congrats on a beautiful boat.

Ryan, are your tabs in this position when disengaged? I thought I read somewhere that this is where they should be. The wave is OK at this position. I was running 750's and only 15' of water max. Thanks Rob Click image for larger version

Yes those are how they are supposed to look when not deployed.

Video from today. We took out Pro Chris Wolter. It was blown out and windy as hell. Some pretty sick surfing:

Not the best angle to film from but I was driving and had no choice. It was windy and blown out but we still surfed. Chris likes to go a little slower 10.7-1...

Quick little iPhone video of the wake at 11.3mph. It's steep, tall and long with a lot of push. It's knocked down in height for my wife in this video as well.

Very nice - you wake makes me want an X30 NOW!!! BTW - thanks for your help last year in determining what kind of surf board to get. IS Tako is very nice.

                              Cheers!
