  • Binding soap

I am curious as to what all are using to help slip into slalom ski bindings? The bottle of Babe's is almost empty, and I suspect you guys have recommendations for simple solutions that are kind to the lake, let the feet slide in, yet hold tight, and can be had from Walmart. Please share and thanks...

We use simple dish soap...cheap...and the small bottles fit in the rear cup holders...

      Dawn dishwashing soap.
You can probably dilute it 50% - but normally just used a few drops where the cuffs touch. And of course, get your foot wet.

Cool thing about having Dawn in the boat - if you spill a little gass you can broadcast some Dawn across the spillage on the water to disperse the gas.

        Binding soap

I buy boat butter by the gallon online. I think waterskis.com.
Soap cracks my feet, and if you get too much in takes longer to work its way out and is too slippery.
Soap is cheaper for sure, but, $20-30 for a few years is ok w me.
Keep the bottle you have nice to refill.

By the way, this is for skiing, so pretty soon after getting in, I could be in the course. If boarding or free ski, I would be more tolerant to it being slippery for longer.

I use Lemon sented, dish soap. (Suppose to keep mosquitoes away, pulse cleaning agent.)
Wife uses ""Babe's" cause she is a "Babe!"

I use a cheap shampoo and dilute it so it will spray through an old spray bottle. Under a $1 and lasts a couple years. My feet smell nice too.....

I also use dish soap. I have had people say its bad for binding and dries them out but I have used the same binding on several skis for 10 years so I don't think that is an issue. I have heard of others using shaving cream or any of the products specifically made for it but most the people i know just use good ole fashion dish soap.

The Babe's boot butter is a great product... its got body so it kinda sticks right where you need it... and there's always conversation from those not familiar due to the marketing genius who came up with the name / label. I will re-use the bottle (and not make any more comments about the product name!). Thanks all for the info and suggestions!

A can of Barbasol shave cream. We have been using this for many years as it washes out of the bindings quickly and easily, is cheap and does not harm the bindings. Do not use shave gel as it takes a while to get it out of the bindings.

U guys ever try wearing super thin socks? I'm not a slalom guy but love me some socks for slipping in and out of wakeboard bindings! I actually wear moisture wicking ankle socks. Works great.

Used hair conditioner. Very slippery. You need very little.

Any dish soap I can get my hands on. Full strength for jump bindings, none of that watered down crap! @Nordicron socks won't work with rubber bindings.
