Just bought a 89 prostar and someone painted the swim platform! I have started sanding today( very tedious) with the small hand sander I have. My question is how do I take it off? It seems to be wedged in between the bracket and the tow hooks on the back. Three of the screws are gone except for one that is rusted in the hole. Any help is appreciated

Has anyone ever sand blasted their platform? I want to take it back to bare wood and oil it properly. I know sanding is the usual method but it doesn't allow you to get right into the tight corners and cracks.
Looking in to it, soda blasting seems to be recommended for wood as it's less aggressive as abrasives used for metal.
Would there be anything against doing this rather than sanding?
