I'm a mastercraft newb, my freshly oiled teak went flat about 2-3 weeks after I put the boat in the slip. No lift, so being wet docked it gets hit with the elements constantly. is this 75/25 the bees knees? I put the starbrite premium golden teak oil on. I'm not going to pull the boat to put more coats on during the season, so one treatment is all it is going to get (2-3 coats per treatment).

You can always just pull the deck while the boats in the water. You should be able to reach under and take the two pins out then slide the deck strait back. Probably a two person job to get it out of the water after off the boat.

03 35th anniversary 197 that needs teak help. Any suggestions on how to get the black out of the natural groves that are in the platform and then what to do after that? Clean, sand, stain, ect... Thanks for any suggestions.

Didn't all 35th Anniversary boats come with fiberglass platforms with the faux teak? Did you replace yours with teak? Or previous owner?

Guys I am new to the game on this thread and read back some but couldn't find the exact recipe.

On a previous boat I used the starbrite product but seeing some of the pictures here I want to try the mineral spirits and linseed oil. Is really just these to products mixed 75/25.

Can someone direct me into the right products to use and directions. I want the best results as the platform on the X23 is the exotic garapa & ipe wood platform.

Reading through the thread I have seen some say don't use some products and use others. Anyways, I want the best results so please help a newbie.

Gents, just make sure you are using raw linseed oil and not boiled. The boiled will harden and continue to darken with age.

Bubba says raw linseed oil. You will have to look a little farther than the big box stores for this.

The directions are a couple pages back in this thread. Just a matter of sanding, applying and wiping excess oil off after an hour or so.

Use caution with any rags as they will ignite by themselves.

I forgot to take pics of the brackets. I will get more pics and dimensions this afternoon.
