Teak Gurus I need your help.
I have a 2015 X23 with the surf edition platform. They use an exotic garapa and ipe wood platform and it's start to show cracking and separation. The boat is a year old and I have been keeping a thin coat of teak oil on it. My boat is in a boat house with no direct sunlight yet it's starting to look bad. Any ideas on this?
My dealer is sending this to MC for warranty but I want to know what the deal is.
This is what it looked like brand new.

Third picture does look bad! Possibly just a bad batch of wood. Although when running wood grain perpendicular, like yours is, usually always makes trouble in an environment of a platform. Wet/dry multiple times.
You say you're putting on teak oil, is your platform completely dry when doing so? You may be trapping in moisture....

Teak Thread- Everything teak in here.
I posted a picture of my platform a week weeks ago due to some issues with it.
Called my dealer, sent pictures and MC agree to allow the warranty claim. Sent me brand new platform and it seems as if the change up the design a bit. This is the surf edition platform and it looks awesome. Thought I would include picture of the boat as well!!!
Thanks to MC for standing by their warranty.

We're looking for a new platform for our 1996 Prostar 205 and I was wondering if you guys could suggest me some places or reffer me someone to buy one ? After some research on the forum yet I've heard of them. http://teakworldenterprises.samsbiz.com
Is there an other design than the original one that you would suggest me or could improve the wave the boat makes for wake surfing ?
Thanks I appreciate the help in advance

Hi All,
Just picked up my first boat a couple weeks ago, 2006 X Star with low hours on it. Unfortunately the previous owner did not understand how to care for teak as evident in the "before" pictures below. Luckily the damage wasn't too bad! I started with 80 grit on my porter 7274 then went over everything with 150. It took about 8 hours of sanding but I finally got most of the existing crap off it. Unfortunately I was in a bit of a time crunch to get the boat in the water so I couldn't spend another 8 hours hand sanding the joints and other hard to get areas (I think you guys call that MCOCD). Went with the 75/25 mixture with two coats top and bottom. I think I could have done another coat as well as some brightner but that's a project for this winter. Just wanted to pass along a huge THANK YOU to all you vets who post up with your wisdom and insight, makes life as beginner that much easier!!
Overall I think it turned out alright, definitely room for improvement (ignore the bright spots in the first "after" picture, reflections from the tower). Any feedback or suggestions welcome!
Cheers
