80/20 linseed\mineral spirits with a brush and wipped it off after an hour. Not so sure I'll even do a second coat.

And make sure you wipe it down with a clean towel after an hour or so after putting the oil on. Then out in the sun!!

    • I'm refinishing a Sanger teak deck that hasn't been touched in years. I started out by pressure washing the platform, then used Starbrite cleaner and finally Starbrite Brightener. It has come a long way but I still have some black stains that I can't get out of the wood. I've read that it's most likely mold/mildew and wood bleach may take care of them. Any other recommendations? I intend to sand the platform with 80 then 120 grit before oiling it.

      • Get some sand paper on it. Use some 80 grit then down to 320 and then clean and brighten again. Use the 80/20 afterwards and it will look great.

        • I'm pretty satisfied with the results after using a DA sander on it today, 80 grit followed by 150 grit paper. I still have to sand the crevices and corners with a sanding block before I oil it.

            • Team swim platform

Spent the whole winter looking for a teak swim platform for my stars and stripes with no luck. Does anyone know someone who has one for sale? Sure would be a nice addition.

                    • New boat. One season under our belt.

Is this a full sand and re stain or can I get away with a pressure wash only?

                        • I used the 3 step process from Star brite on my 99 Sportstar deck.

First step was knocking it down with 250 gritt

Last pic is the final coat of oil

Awesome... You cannot beat the three step system. Now cleaning (step 1) and then the oil (step 3) is probably all you will need to do. It worked for me... Nuff said...
