  • '93 MC BF200 Dashboard Panel

    Guy's,

I need some help ... I've got a '93 MC BF200 and want to replace the original "Dashboard Panel" that came w/ the boat. I've made templates from the original because all (4) corners are cracked from overtight'n.

I'm not certain what type of material it is, (plexyglass-lexan)
or it's thickness. I was thinking I'd replace it w/ black polycarbonate.

Any ideas, suggestions or thoughts? Has anyone already, "been there" - "done that"?

There's an old thread on here about lexan dash replacements on a prostar. Forgot who did it though.

I have a few replacement panels left for my '88 190. I think the dash is the same as you BF200. I believe each panel is 5" x 5.5" if I remember correctly I can check tonight. If the panels I have will work just PM me your address and they are yours. If the dash looks like this you are in luck. The one on the left with the ignition and hour meter is the replacement the one on the right is OEM

I believe it's only a 2 hole setup for the dual speedo's - no PPass gauge.

What piece are you looking for? Thought you wanted the pieces for the switches and/or ignition side. Those are usually what breaks at the corners. So the question is does the bottom section of your dash on either side of the steering wheel look like the picture above?

yeah, I'll take the bottom rt corner plate - I'll need that one too.
what I was asking about was the center dash plate, mine seems to be a solid piece.

              An alternative solution for you:
              Front Panel Designer

These guys are aimed at the prototype electronics market, but what they're selling should work for boat instrument panels also. Draw up what you need with their free software, send it in, and get a nice black-anodized aluminum replacement panel, perhaps customized with colored engraving.

              It would look pretty slick.

PM me your address and I'll send two of them out in the next couple of days (the other side will probably need replacing soon as well). Don't know about the top section. All of the gauges mounted directly into the large main panel on the '88.

I used Clear polycarbonate 1/8" on mine. I covered it with carbon fiber decal. it worked great.
If I was not going to use the carbon fiber decal, I would have went with the black.

The hardest part was making sure of the size for the rocker switches. It can be cut out with a coping saw, and a dremal.

Sorry, I promised the last two to Atlfootr. I posted these months ago on the Pay it Forward thread and only had two takers now everyone wants them. I got mine from a local plastics place. It is just thin black lexan. I only need one small piece but they made me buy a whole remnant piece which was enough for about 8 panels. Cost me $20

You can find single pieces of polycarbonate or lexan on Ebay for cheap and avoid the minimum sales order that plastic shops require. Brian, you're lucky to get that $20 minimium, the few places I've called around here want $50+. I suppose this is why single pieces are up for sale. I did find a place that will sell single 'scrap' pieces just the right size for me, but they are clear up in Burbank.

Thanks. TAP Plastics sells remnant pieces as well. I'll try them.

Ryan, there is a place in Torrance that made me a vent for my dash that had cracked. I am not exactly sure what the place is called, it is right off the 405 at the 110 freeway, I will look for my receipt if you still need to have some stuff made. But, if you take your piece that you want to have made they will cut it for you. I think my dash vent cost me only $6.

Thanks SodarSki. That sounds like great pricing. I'd love to get their contact info!
