2013 X-30 - Tower Speaker Sound Quality

I just picked up my new X-30. Love the boat but not to happy with the factory sound from the tower. I have 4 tower speakers on the tower, Clarion Head unit, JL Speakers and JL amps.

The audio in the boat sounds great but the audio from the tower speakers does not. Seems to have a distorted sound. Dealer said the tower amp was on high pass so they changed it to full pass. It did not seem to help.

Any thoughts?

Youre not going to be satisfied with them on the factory amp. id go to a JL HD750 or just get wet sounds. the JL HD will really wake them up.

What is the difference in the JL HD series amp and the M series amp from the factory?

What amps are currently in there? I know when I went from 2 speakers to 4 they did upgrade it.

they put a weak 400 something watt amp that puts barely any power to the speakers. putting the HD 750 amp will almost double your wattage.

Do you think it as simple as being under powered? I do think the tower speakers are on the 400 watt amp.

Ok, so which amp controls what? Does one control the 4 tower speakers, and the other control the 4 inboard speakers plus the sub? Or, is the sub run off the tower speaker amp?

I see JL has the MHD series as well. Does it need to be a 4 channel? They have a 4x150. They also have a 750x1.

I'm thinking the marine version would be the way to go as it has all the stainless components and the corrosion-proofing.

the smaller amp is going to be on the tower speakers. the 6 channel one should be for the in boats and the sub.

4x150 will sound good. had an alpine PDX F6 on my 15 before i went wetsounds and it screamed

2 channel could work too. had a Wetsounds Syn 2 two channel on my 4 pro 80's

yeah i knew it was something weak like that. the 4x100 is to the tower.
