2002 X30 Factory Ballast – Keep/Give Away?

Yanked my port factory ballast this summer after battling pumps that worked intermittently and horribly slow when they were actually functioning. Put in 1,100 fat sac that fills in about 5 minutes with Tsunami pump. Love it. Can’t see ever going back. Plan to pull starboard and possibly ski locker sac next season as I dial in my weight.

Any reason to keep rear hard tanks? Not planning on selling boat any time soon.

Anyone need rear ballast tanks?

I bought an X2 couple years ago. PO said he had the hard tanks, and I could have em if I wanted to. Couldn't see me ever using them, so I think he sold em

Ditch the hard tanks....I don't even use my rear ones in my x-star.
2200 lbs. in the rear is a lot on that boat.
You may need a ski locker sac plus a 750# in the walkway as a start to counter that weight in the back. (that's about 1150 lbs. in front....prob not enough)

How did you fit an 1100 in the rear locker? I though 750 would be the max.

Only running 1,100 lbs. on port side. Pulled hard tank and there is room for the 1,100 sac. I might need to brace the hinged door as the bag pushes on it a bit when full. Just ordered 350 lbs. sac to run under port seats and a 650 lbs front bow sac, hopefully cleaning up and elongating our wake. (shhh..don't tell; part of my wife's Christmas present.)*

All this came at Wakemaker's advice. Interestingly, they don't recommend the ski locker sac for my boat, instead strongly urging me to put the weight under the port seats, which makes sense. Looking forward to seeing what our wake looks like in the spring.

Currently have hard tank on starboard side to balance for wake boarding with about 200 lbs per side. Will likely go to a small sac on that side to free up more space. *

David - For what it's worth, I have the identical same hull as you ('02 X30) with the L-18 engine. I removed my 2 hard tanks and replaced them with 750 lb sacs on each side. I then had a custom 550 lb ski locker sac made by Fly High and also add the 1,000 lb triangular bow sac. I then removed the entire ballast system (manifold and ubing) and punched 2 additional holes to direct feed each ballast puppy pump. I also up-sized the tubing to 1" from the stock 3/4". I can now fill both 750s and the ski locker 500 lb sac in about 7 mintues with just a fill of the switches. Before, I could only fill one at a time because the strong pump would rob water from the other pumps. I fill the 1,000 lb bow sac with a tsumani pump. The empty is even quicker than the fill times. Totally worth the time and money to go this way.

V they should fit, but you will be much better served with bags. The hard tanks won't give you much umff in the x10.

I took the hard tanks out of my 2003 x2 and replaced them with 750s. I offered them up for free on here and put them up for $50 on craigslist locally. After a couple of months, someone bought them locally.
