just found this thread after searching how to change the timers. With my stock ballast and extra ballast I swear I have hit the switch 30 time to get the extra bags to fill or empty.

I would definitely be in for this programmer. the timing is perfect as the boat is down for the next week while I swap the transmission. let mw know what is best.

I have a 2010 mastercraft x2 with mcx.

Make sure your timer box looks like this with 3 jabsco timer modules.



At some point in 2010, MC switched to a different timer module that is much larger and I cannot reprogram those.

So, I bought a new portable programmer that does not need to be connected to a PC to reprogram the timers. I have tested it and it seems to work well.

I wrote up a procedure for reprogramming your own timers and it makes sense to me, but I have also reprogrammed hundreds of timers, so if a couple people would be willing to review it for me and offer any feedback, I'd appreciate it. Let me know and I'll email it to you.

That appears to be an inline timed relay that you would connect between the factory timer module and the pump. So, the factory timer module would still be controlling the time the pumps are running.

So, the portable programmer is about ready to go. I'd like to get a list going of people that would like to use it. Please PM me and I'll start compiling the list then work through it FCFS.

The portable ballast timer programmer has made several round trips around the US and everyone has had great success with it. Its more convenient and cheaper because you don't need to remove/disconnect the timer module and ship it to me.

Its available now if anyone needs it. Just PM me and let me know.

I used the programmer ^^^ and it worked great! Super easy to use and I like the added feature of being able to reprogram the timers externally using the pump toggle switches. Highly recommend.

Any idea of how the brain box would respond to replacing the jabsco pumps with Johnson's or private labeled ones from wakemakers? Do you know if it's finicky on current draw sensing?

The reprogrammed firmware does not monitor pump current, so it will work with any pump motor. The timer box breaker switches would be your over current protection.
