  • 1995 ps 205 surf???

I'm a skier but got a chance to surf on friends boat and was wondering if its safely possible to make a small surfable wake behind a 95 prostar 205 ??

I'd be surprised if you safely could. I have a 1995 PS190 ... not much wake to speak of. I don't think I'd want to weight it down that much. That usage was not envisioned when designed. S

Totally know it wasn't in the design but just curious really enjoyed surfing though.

Why not? It may be small like the 205v's but you should be able to put at least 1500#s on a side and surf it.

I'd be interested too! I've never tried it but it looks like a fun thing to do when the lake isn't smooth....

I've seen guys wakeboard on a 93' 205 so I would guess its doable somehow.

Try it! Let us know how it works. Small boat weighted down to near zero freeboard, rough lake, driver inexperienced with the situation ... be careful! I expect it could be done but IMO, sounds like a recipe for a swamped boat. S

I've wanted to try, haven't had time yet.

One issue is fuel tank vent on left side of boat below rub rail.

                saw this on wakeworld

Saw this on wakeworld.......Yes i agree on the gas vent too, and if we do try i want to be as safe as possible. I dont want to be the guy with 8 dudes and sacs in a ps 190 with a tower trying to wakeboard that sinks his boat. As the father of a 15 year old I know there is a way to afford ballast if you don't buy any more songs on I Tunes and don't get Rock Band. I have a 93 205 that we surf with. Here is the set up. 1200LBS in a couch in back with the seat out, 400 on starboard side and 400 in the front with any other riders on the engine or on the starboard side. Look on e bay and you can get deals. Have the driver go about 10mph and just dial it in from there.

Can you tell me what you have on your 205, and post a pic of the setup? The GF wants to set hers up for surfing too.

                    Thanks
