  • 2012 X25 Hardtank options

In my 2012 X25, stock ballast in not satisfactory or near it. I want to add around 1000lbs to each back corner pocket (they aren't being used anyways). I looked at fat sacks, but the back compartments are a pain in the *** to open and close all the time, and we are split between goofy and regular surfers so we would be back there a lot!

I would like to have my hard ballast tank replaced with a much larger one that could be wired directly into the console, so I can set my surfer profiles and it will work? (if possible, that's the hope). I think I would also need a new pump, because they are already slow as it is. Any recommendations on both custom ballast tanks and pumps?

I have talked to local "professionals" about this, and they all tell me is to use lead. I do NOT want that. The boat is used for much more than surfing, so having extra weight in it all the time is not what I'm looking for.

    Thanks

Just open the entire hatch, much easier than the small access openings. also look into getting the fly high X star rear bags to go in those compartments. Do you have gen 2?

          I do not believe so.

The wake is great, if I can get everyone on one side and only that side (200lb) ballast filled any movement I'm boat creates sloppy wake. I'm thinking the extra weight will help out

Fly high Xstar ballast bags are the way to go on the X25- 40x22x22 completely fill the odd shaped compartment. I also run 2-50lb bags of lead behind the rear panel and the transom on each side and 300lb bow lead. I'll have my bags for sale in a couple weeks- just ordered a x23 so I won't need them anymore.

Do you have any pictures of the setup?
Idk about the '13s but the '12 x25 have super awkward (to open and close) rear compartments. Would I have to throw over a manual pump or could I directly connect it to the stock system already installed?

All x25s will have the same hatches. just open the entire hatch. Do you have the overflow bags? Or do you use a manual pump every time?

I never realized you could open the whole hatch.... The only thing I use now are the stock built in, so I choose a profile and go

You can plumb the bags into the hardtanks. I would have a dealer or professional do this if you're not familiar with these systems

Hmm, Alright. Do you know the largest bags possible that will fit back there. Boats in storage, can't get to it to measure dimensions
